Suspended egg, crowned with a double-headed eagle. On the body, oval medallions with repoussé images of St. John and the Ascension of Christ

In the early 20th century a special metal workshop was set up at the Stroganov school, with its own trademark. Large Easter eggs such as this were hung beneath the most revered icons in churches. This egg came from the Alexander Palace.
